FAQS
How do I book a stall?
Bookings are by phone only on the week leading up to the weekend that you want. One third of the Market is set aside for casual stalls each week. Call the Tuesday before for the Saturday and the Wednesday before for the Sunday. Calls start from 11am sharp. The phone line is open until 3pm but the Market often books out by 12.30pm. (check out 'What can I sell? before phoning)
Ph:(02) 9818 5373
It can be difficult to get through as it is very busy. It is recommended that you put half an hour aside for hitting the redial button. Sometimes patience is needed but once you get through you are spoken to personally and given a stall site over the phone which is held for you until 8.30am on the morning of the Market.PLEASE NOTE: Have a pen and paper ready to save time
for others who are waiting to book.
How do I do a pre-booking?
An alternative way to book is to pre-book and pre pay. This can ONLY be done at the Market in person on Saturday for the next Saturday and Sunday for the next Sunday between 3pm-4pm at the Market office i.e. At the back of the main school building, up the steps. (previously the old girls toilets) This is a convenient and easy way to book, however there are absolutely no refunds or transfers under any circumstances. (Including if the Market does not go ahead because of extreme weather). NB: New product stalls can NOT be pre booked.

One stall $60 This includes insurance. If you have your own insurance you are entitled to a $10 discount. To get this discount you must provide your market insurance policy. No exceptions. What is the Stall Holders Lucky Door Prize?
In February 08 we introduced a lucky door prize for all stallholders which will be ongoing. At the time of paying rent on the day you are given a ticket with your stall number and how much you paid. Be sure to put this ticket in the boxes provided by 1pm for a chance to win your stall costs back. Two drawn each normal day.
What time do I come for my stall?
There are two set up times. At the time of booking you are told your stall number, location and what time to come. Stalls around the perimeter of the Market arrive between 6.45am-8.30am. These stalls may use their cars to unload next to their stall but all cars MUST be out of the Market area by 8am.
Stalls in the centre of the grounds arrive between 8.05am-8.30am. These stall holders must walk their things in from the carpark. All stalls are held until 8.30am on the dot. To secure your position, it is advised that you make sure it does not look vacant at 8.30am because it could be given away to a Standby.
Centre stalls cannot drive into the Market.
Where can I park?
There are a limited amount of parking spots for stall holders within the school grounds. It is best to be dropped off and have the car taken away but if necessary stall holders may stack park behind the main building. NB: Cars can not be moved for any reason in this area before 4.15pm. This stacked parking tends to fill up by 7.15am. Please leave your name and mobile phone number (or stall number) on the dashboard of your car.
BEWARE YOU WILL BE BOOKED IF YOU PARK LONGER THAN TWO HOURS IN THE PUBLIC CARPARK (BEHIND COMMONWEALTH BANK)
Cars in the Market grounds
For those who are allowed to drive in, please be considerate to others by unpacking and packing up quickly. The longest this should take is 20mins maximum. Do not leave your car in while setting up your stall. Please move all cars out immediately after unloading goods onto your stall site. Please be aware of your surroundings when moving your car i.e. people, cars and fixtures.
What does Standby mean?
On booking days, once the Market stalls have been booked out we can safely take a list of 13 standbys who we can guarantee will get a space on the day from cancellations and no shows. Yes! Over 20 years it has always happened. The majority of standbys come at 8.30am and are met by the manager at he bottom of the stairs at the back of the school building. Standbys are taken around the markets in order and choose spots from the 'no shows'.
What size is a stall space and how big are the tables?
Most of the stalls are roughly 3m x 3m. However some are bigger or smaller. They are all the same price. The tables are 2.4m long and 0.6m wide.
What should I bring?
A gazebo no larger than 3x3 or a market umbrella and stand (Not all stall spaces can accommodate a 3x3 tent) or umbrella and stand. A chair for yourself, table cloth, signs and display equipment for your stall. The Markets' stools & chairs must not be removed for stallholder use. A minimum of $50 change is suggested in gold coins and $5 and $10 notes. Shopping bags for your customers purchases. Your stall and table hire fee.
Food stalls are available for refreshments. Toilet facilities including disabled toilets are located at the back of the market near the car park.
NB. It can get very hot on sunny days. We strongly recomend that all stall holders bring some sort of shade for themselves. If you need to hire a tent from Rozelle Markets, please make sure to reserve it at the time of booking your stall (limited numbers of tents available).
What happens in wet weather?
Permanents are expected to come each week. The Market is never cancelled ahead of time. All stalls are held until 8.30am. Stall holders are strongly encouraged to come with wet weather protection. Some of the best business is done when the weather report is less than perfect. However if the weather is extreme the stall holders make the decision to stay or leave at 8.30am. Those who stay pay rent at that time. Prepaid stalls are non refundable. Permanent stall holders pay a cancellation fee if they don't stay.
How do I become permanent?
Two thirds of the Market is permanent. No more new product stalls may become permanent. Suitable stalls need to come at least three times in a row on the same weekend day before they can ask the Manager to be put on the 'Permanent' waiting list. Those waiting come each week as a casual until their turn comes up. Existing permanents need to leave before vacancies become available.
What does it mean to be permanent?
Permanents do not need to book by phone. Permanents have their chosen position held for them each week until 8.30am on the day.
Permanents are expected to come each week.
Permanents may have four times off per year at no charge. e.g holidays, sickness, bad weather etc. After that a cancellation fee of $10 is charged for non attendance each day. Permanents sign a 'set of conditions to abide by.
WARNING
